Des Moines – House Republicans advanced a plan to expand school choice options in the state following a hearing Tuesday in which members of the public took turns heaping praise on the idea and excoriating it.
“With education savings grants as outlined in this bill, some parents would have extraordinary choice of the educational option that best fits their child’s unique needs regardless of income, location, cost, special needs or other barriers currently preventing choice,” said Lee Morrison, superintendent in the Office of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Davenport.
