A loyal Krustacean (that’s a fan of this blog by the way) sent me an email saying that he/she saw a Des Moines Register reporter Jason Clayworth near a gay bar yesterday. I’ve written about Clayworth sexual preference before and his affinity of ugly ass used sweaters. Clayworth seems to be the Register’s lead reporter on everything gay.
Jason was just dropping off his entry form for the Iowa Leather Man Competition that’s coming up.
UPDATE: Oh, wait. The person spotted near the gay bar just looked like Jason Clayworth, it wasn’t actually him. My bad.
Pretty outrageous isn’t it?
I’m sure some of you think I should be punished for writing such a thing.
Well, I’m not the one you should be upset with. This is basically what Des Moines Register reporter Jason Clayworth did yesterday. Clayworth posted a blog entry that was called “Iowa gay marriage opponents advertise under “booty shots.” In his article he refers to the Iowa Family Policy Center. There is just one problem. IFPC wasn’t advertising on the site. He was referring to an ad that looked similar to the ad that IFPC had run.
Earlier this week, Clayworth insinuated that Branstad supported civil unions and gay adoptions, but when you look at Branstad’s answers he never said those things. While Branstad did a terrible interview with Todd Dorman of the Cedar Rapids Gazette, he basically said that gay couples should be able to visit their partners in the hospital.
In all seriousness, the Register needs to do something about their gay activist reporter. Either he needs to cover non-political news or everything he writes needs to be run by an editor. What Clayworth did yesterday was simply uncalled for. Heck, liberal and conservative bloggers wouldn’t even stoop that low.

The idea of Objective reporting has been dead since the advent of cable news. That said, a person’s sexual orientation doesn’t automatically make them an activist. As for Jason in particular, I don’t read his blog, and I rarely read past the front page of the Register as I have no interest in providing support to dead tree media.
