Well said Space! I think many are regretting so quickly dismissing him as a "nutjob" in '08, especially considering how things ended up.

As a 59 year old family physician from rural Iowa I may not qualify as a "young voter", but I am also an enthusiastic supporter of Ron Paul. I traveled over three hours to be at this ISU rally and also attended his fund-raiser for Kent Sorenson Saturday morning.
I hope that more of my fellow Republicans wake up to this man's message. This is no flash in the pan fringe movement. I am no Ron Paul "groupie".I am simply an American who loves my country and recognizes that I can not truly be a patriot without supporting the constitution upon which this Republic was founded. Why are so many young people so smitten with Dr. Paul's message? Maybe it is because "peace, freedom, and prosperity" are timeless themes that their parents have been ignoring for so long that they have finally came back into style.

This is where the party needs to be. Let's stop relying on fear and actually convey some useful messages for the nation.

Lobo, Nimitz; I agree that the rest of the folks need to sit up and take notice. Ron Paul is putting forth a message that resonates with the young voters. Simply put, they can see thru the BS that the politcal set has been spewing for years. They understand completely that it is THEY that are going to have to pay the bill for all the over-spending, budget-busting legacy that we are leaving for them. Mark my words, if the Libertarian Party ever gets its $**t together and catches on to truly limiting government to its Constitutional restraints, the GOP is in big trouble!!!

Peggy the link ronpaulshakesmile.HereInIowa.com may not have worked properly this morning. It is the gallery of the those shaking Ron Paul's hand. I did not publish many audience images, but there is a few. Try this direct link for the handshakes...

Ron Paul seems to do a really good job of connecting to young people. We have to do a better job of this. I was not a Paul supporter but his message does seem to be gaining traction.
