Another week, another list of idiots.

Mike Mahaffey

mike mahMike Mahaffey is a regular on “The Insiders,” WHO TV’s Sunday morning political roundtable with John Bachman. Mahaffey mentioned the civil war within the Republican Party a couple of times, including when talking about the special election in New York’s 23rd congressional district. Mahaffey stated that the outcome will either show signs of a Republican resurgence or the depths of the civil war within the party.

On Saturday the Republican candidate, Dede Scozzafava, dropped out. Yesterday she endorsed the Democrat candidate. While well known Republicans endorsed conservative candidate Doug Hoffman, the RNC supported Scozzafava. It looks like they knew what they were doing now that she has endorsed the Democrat. In Mahaffey’s defense, he recorded the show on Thursday, but his civil war comments seem silly after she supported the Democratic candidate.

Mike Mahaffey – You must be an idiot.

Newt Gingrich

newtIt’s hard to believe that people like George Pataki and Rudy Giuliani endorsed the conservative candidate Doug Hoffman in New York’s 23rd while Newt backed Scozzafava. What a mistake. Look, we have to get past the Republican Party label and support the candidates who stand for the principles of our Party.

Newt – You must be an idiot.

Kathie Obradovich

obradovichKathie was part of the reporter’s roundtable on Iowa Press this weekend. Kathie was commenting on Branstad and Roxanne Conlin’s potential campaigns. Kathie said that she didn’t think that Roxanne was really a throwback candidate because she’s never held office and is a woman. Wow, talk about gender bias. I know that electing the first woman to congress or governor would be a big deal in Iowa, but that doesn’t mean Conlin isn’t a throwback candidate.

Kathie Obradovich – You must be an idiot.

A few Hawkeye Fans

hawksI’m sure there are a few Hawkeye fans who turned off the TV when Ricky Stanzi threw 4 picks in the 3rd quarter on Saturday, but if this Hawkeye team has taught us one thing this year it’s that they never quit, and they are never out of it.

Fair weather Hawkeye Fans – How can you turn the channel? Don’t be an idiot!

Katie is going to have a complex if she finds herself on this list week after week, LOL.

Totally agree with you on fair weather Hawkeye fans, but if they turned off the TV they missed an awesome fourth quarter. That is likely consequence enough.

The Hawks seem destined to be UNDEFEATED! As Sir Winston Churchill exclaimed…. Never, never, never, never, never, never give up.

Oh, and Newt has ALWAYS been an idiot. Nothing new to see here.

can i add to this list ?
Linn county voters in district 33:
last Thursday you had your pick of 3 candidates and only one of them was a registered republican. so you didn’t elect the republican, instead going with a young union official firend of Christian Fong.

now here is the kicker, the only republican on the ballot was also the only BLACK man on the ticket one of cedar rapids most dense concentration of black voters…… BRAVO !

with only 1 month to prepare, you have basically given this seat back to the democrats no matter which candidate they vote for…. no wonder we keep loosing elections.

  • HawkCR1 wrote on 2 November, 2009, 12:22

Lobo….The Linn County GOP has had its share of problems for a long time now….this is really nothing new.

Their county chair has already gone and endorsed and is working for Fong….and their county leadership basically been pushing anyone out who’s actually got REPUBLICANS elected up there.

Lets add Dede S., former candidate of NY-23, to the list for dropping out of the race. And one more add would be every single conservative in the country who backs Hoffman in that same race.

Hoffman is clueless about the local issues in his District, but he does a superb job spurting the golden shower of right wing conservative blabbery. We may well be witnessing the death of moderate Republican politics this day my friends. I thought it was important to win elections, but if the Republican party is nothing more than an extreme right wing conservative party, we’ll never win the Executive Office, we’ll win very few Senate seats, but we will win some House seats. Yea! We can win some House seats!

House elections are local elections. Its important the candidate represent the District in Washington, so how can he/she do that with no knowledge of what those issues are?

This election will be big as a direction indicator. Frankly, I’d rather see the Demoncrat win out there, it would be a shot over the bow of YOU conservative idiots who are stealing MY Republican Party. I don’t have much hope, I think the emotions-over-substance culture has already won. How else did Obama get elected? Christian conservatives are even worse.

    Robpo..

There’s being a moderate…and then there’s being a Democrat in Republican’s clothing. Republican candidates shouldn’t be taking money from ACORN…getting endorsed by the Daily Kos, supporting the stimulus package,..and then finally ENDORSING their Democratic Party opponent.

The idiots here is the Republican Party leadership in NY-23 that put Scozzafaza up as their candidate in the first place. They obviously failed to properly vette their candidate…

Ms. Scozzafaza was no moderate…she is a dyed in the wool liberal…

I am writing off topic, since I know most of the people on here do not watch the colbert report, you are not aware that the US Speed skating team lost its primary sponsor and is scrabling for funds. Colbert has stepped in to help fundraise for them. I know many of you probably don’t like him, but this is a good patriotic cause I thought everyone could get behind. You can go to colbertnation or the US speed skating cite to make a donation.

I don’t know about that, HawkCR1, your points look more like rationalization than sound reasoning. Her campaign took money from a PAC affiliated with ACORN, half her money was from PAC’s, why does that make her a Democrat? Should a Republican not take PAC money if it smells of ACORN affiliation? Thats a pretty small thing to draw your conclusion from. Are you saying Daily KOS endorsed Scozzafava over Owens, the Democrat? They didn’t, they made some positive remarks about her, related to the fact she is a moderate. Again, why should we get our panties in a bunch because Daily Kos says something good about one of our people? You’re just being silly if these are actual reasons you think she is nothing more than a Democrat. You’re scared by bogeymen. I applaud her support of the stimulus. Look, I’m not happy about the ridiculous growth in gov spending Obama is doing, BUT, we were facing a potential Depression, we were in dire straits. We know gov spending can help alleviate the damage when our economy is on such a precipice, as such the stimulus was a good temporary move to keep us from further freefall. I support doing the stimulus so far, we’ll see in a year or so if that changes. I base that view on facts and experience, I won’t be a slave to an economic theory that has proven flawed (supply side) in reality.

And her endorsement of Owens was just funny. I applaud it. I enjoy the middle finger it represents to social conservatives across the country. It was a message to the idiot movement, and look what happened in the end. Now, instead of a moderate Republican we have a liberal Democrat added to the House. Thank you so much Conservatives! Idiots.

And I guarantee, rather than learn this lesson and grow from it, you’re just going to rationalize and blame others and shout your stupidity louder. Because it has worked so well so far. What a bunch of rubes.

Robpo – The Voters in NY-23 did not have the option of a “Moderate Republican.” They had a socialist\populist Republican. They also had a socialist\elitist Democrat, and a conservative Conservative.

  • robpo wrote on 4 November, 2009, 17:15

Yes bunce, of course, everything left of extreme right is “socialist/populist” – thats whats wrong with your perspective. i get that you feel emboldened knowing there are thousands of like-minded teabaggers out there, but good sense has to come into play at some point… doesn’t it?

If people like Hoffman are the only ones good enough, and people like Hoffman continue to overshadow and push out moderate Republicans, we’ll never win another election outside the south.
