Obama is a liar

ChangePresident Barack Hussein Obama is a liar. Congressman Joe Wilson said it best last night during the President’s speech to a joint session of Congress. There is no language in the current crop of bills explicitly outlawing government from funding abortion or illegal immigrants. Joe was right.

The liberals will point to section 242 in HR 3200 where it states that individuals must be lawfully present in a state of the United States to receive premium credits. This is the same language the liberals used for SCHIP. But what they are purposely leaving out is the fact that there is no language in the bill that requires proof of citizenship. All the illegal alien has to do is offer a social security number. At no point is it required by law that the social security number be accurate. There were multiple amendments voted down that would have mandated a proof of citizenship requirement. Republicans voted for the amendments and Democrats voted against them. No surprise there.

Federally funded abortion is the other topic Obama decided to point to last night in his speech. Obama said, “Under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions.” That seems simple enough. But once again, Obama can’t back that statement up. Under current law and any future legislation, funding for abortions is legal unless explicitly prohibited in the legislation. Once again, numerous amendments were voted down by Democrats to explicitly prohibit abortion funding in the bill.

So either Obama is stupid, which I don’t think anyone believes, or he’s lying. Take your pick.

    CD,

The point is there is no way to restrain the use of healthcare by illegals.

    - I was born in Hawaii
    - People making less than $250,000 will not pay higher taxes
    - Change you can believe in

Um… yeah. Obama always tells the truth.

Reason – what? We have EVerify and other checks for this now.

  • HawkCR1 wrote on 10 September, 2009, 13:08

    CD..

There is NOTHING in HR 3200 that prohibits access to either the public option or the health insurance “exchange”. The only part of HR 3200 that even remotely says anything about illegals is Section 246 which prohibits illegals from getting so called “affordability credits” to purchase private health insurance.

You refer to EVerify, CD…but guess what….there’s no ENFORCEMENT provisions anywhere in this bill. There’s no requirements for any sort of verification of a person’s citizenship status. Basically, its going to create the world’s biggest honor’s system! All you have to do is say ‘Oh yes, I’m a citizen..please sign me up for the public option”….

So yes..Obama and any other Democrat who sits there and tries to tell us that illegals won’t be covered under these proposals…ARE LYING.

All you have to do to tell that they’re lying is to listen to the talking point they’re starting to use today… Before last night….Obama and Democrats had referred to the “47 million people with no health insurance”. But last night during his speech..and in all of Obama’s spinmeisters talking points afterwards…they only talked about 30 million without coverage.

What happened to the additional 17 million? The 17 million just happens to refer to the estimated number of illegals in this country….Coincidence? I think not….

HawkCR1 – that’s exactly my point of the entire post.

con daily you are the liar, or stupid, which one, I will let you pick, illegals can buy insurance now if they want, they could possibly buy into the government plan, not sure what your problem is with people buying healthcare. The problem you idiots don’t realize, is every complaint you come up with for public healthcare, is that insurance companies are already doing it. You are a bunch of stupid pawns for the insurance companies who are too stupid to understand the fact that you are being used by the insurance industry to screw yourselves over. bend over.

When we look at all of this evidence, it seems that health reform leaves in place the status quo on illegal immigration, and certainly does not provide any new benefits particularly for illegal immigrants. We hope to look at this issue more in the days ahead, because some hospitals are particularly concerned about recouping their costs for treating illegal immigrants, and we’re curious to know more about that problem and how it might or might not be solved by reform.

The best argument that we find that health reform would help illegal immigrants is that some might be able to purchase the public option — if it passes, and it might not — on the new health insurance exchange. They would purchase that at full cost. Obama’s said “the reforms I’m proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally,” which Wilson said was a “lie.” Actually, Obama can make a pretty thorough case that reform doesn’t apply to those here illegally. We don’t find the public option argument enough to make the case that Obama “lied.” We rate Wilson’s statement False.

SD – I don’t care if illegals purchase their own insurance. I have a huge problem paying for their insurance out of my tax dollars. Kind of a big difference.

  • Silence Dogood wrote on 10 September, 2009, 13:53

Con daily, if they are paying for it, they are paying for it, no difference, this is a non argument. It is no different than if you are paying for it. Besides the fact that I doubt illegals will be allowed to buy into it. This is a complete red herring argument being used to play on people’s prejudices.

CD, is craig paying you yet??? if he isn’t, he seems to be using you as slave labor. You might want to unionize. You should demand health coverage.

There is a time & place for that debate. Unfortunately, Rep. Wilson chose the wrong time & place!

  • HawkCR1 wrote on 11 September, 2009, 6:21

    Silence..

If illegals aren’t going to be covered as Obama claimed…then why did Senate committees yesterday move to start closing loopholes that would allow illegals access to publicly funded health care?

If illegals aren’t going to be covered..why did the House Ways and Means committee not once, but TWICE vote down on party lines enforcement measures that would have insured illegals would not have access to publicly funded health care.

You can sit and throw out all the hyperbole you want to..but the facts are clear here..no matter how much you want to insult people otherwise.

  • Silence Dogood wrote on 11 September, 2009, 13:09

the house bill specifically says no coverage for illegals, don’t know how much more specific you want to get. the silly part of this, is they still go to ERs that we already pay for, so whining about this is pretty stupid. but again, the bill forbids it period. hawk, you need to stop listening to fox news.
