At the risk of intervening in this charming discussion of the relative merits of the correspondents, perhaps a few words about Jamison and what he has done in office and for the Republicans may be in order. I lived in Story County in the 1990's. When Dave Jamison took office in Story County, his predecessor was a very nice, very elderly lady who had, unfortunately, let the office go down hill somewhat. There was some complaint about tax sales for some individuals simply going by the boards, instead of being held as the law required, thus, one property in Ames had ten years of accumulated property taxes. There was also some question of whether the office was being run in an efficient and business-like manner; certainly there were some bad investment choices. Jamison changed that by reorganizing the office so that every clerk did both property tax and license plate (and anyone who has waited in line for license plates while the tax clerks do not much, or vice versa, can appreciate that.) He also made sure that the clerks actually behaved nicely, which is almost unheard of in some other county courthouses. He implemented computerization efforts. He began working to bring transparency to the other county offices, much to the chagrin of the Democrats and a few retired-in-place Republicans. He has implemented a political effort to elect more Republicans to county offices, something which was badly overdue. There are no exciting investments, but, neither are there massive losses of money like in the Iowa Trust. So from my point of view, this is actually a welcome development, and I think the rest of the state will like what it sees when it gets to know Jamison a bit better.

At the time I wrote my posts there weren't any links posted and I don't want to have to do a google search of every damn time I read an article. Some of us out here didn't grow up with a damn computer on 24/7 and actually enjoy the time away for it. The only time I come here is to check for any relavant news on the GOP and get into an occasional exchange with the posters. Usually it's considered common courtesy when someone asks for information to share it with them is to be kind enough to reply without being snarky. BTW, are you always this pleasant?

Timmy, I am glad you take offense.

If you are unable to click on links for other websites, would you like me to copy and paste their resumes into the comment section? Would that be easier for you?

Madison, all I asked for was to put it out in the article instead of having to chase down links. Why do you have your panties in such a wad?

Madison, I take offense at your accusations. I'm not trashing these guys, I just want to see some detailed qualifications for these job applicants(which is what they are). I have to provide a resume to prospective employers, why shouldn't they?
