Don't let your political leanings blind you from the political realities of Iowa. Iowa is very much a purple state that is leaning Blue. Defeating Grassley in a primary in favor of a more conservative candidate would be the surest way to give the Democrats another senate seat. Just 3 years ago the Republicans held a 4-1 edge in the U.S. congressional delegation. The Democrats now have 3 seats to the Republicans 2. Obama beat McCain rather easily, Culver beat a much more seasoned Republican in 2006. Bottom line: Getting more conservative is NOT going to get votes in Des Moines, Waterloo, Davenport, or Cedar Rapids...

Ted Stevens (R-AK) is no longer a "current" senator. He lost to Mark Begich last November.

But remember Comrade Murphy doesn't like dissent(i.e. public tax hearing), so if a group of three says something he don't like then it's mob rule.

Chanting "Let us vote!" is now "mob rule?" Does the outright tyranny on display by Mike Groinstal bother you in the least?

The duly-elected Democrat legislators of Iowa are slaves to their majority leader; they can't speak for themselves for fear that they will be targeted by the Tim Gill Butt Buddy Campaign Fund.

how could grassley say it takes him a month to figure out his position? It's not like this hasn't been in the forefront. He knew the case was on file, he knew when the decision was to come out. He had much much time to prepare his answer. Just because he's been there for a century does not make this a lifetime appointment. He's only as valuable if he represents his constituents, not represent himself and his little silly pet projects. His projects are unserious, like worrying about official cars idling while waiting for people at govt buildings. That's a big deal to him, but homosexual marriage - gee, I don't know. Let me get back to you on that after you no longer need my opinion.

It's cowardly and not how a US Senator should behave. He's really got to step it up, or I'm hoping someone primaries him.
