New Billboard Unveiled Near Des Moines International Airport

MERRIFIELD, VA. — November 23, 2015 — The 2016 Committee, a political action committee raising awareness and support for Dr. Ben Carson’s presidential campaign, unveiled a new billboard recently near the Des Moines International Airport welcoming travelers to “Carson Country.”

“Dr. Carson’s vision for healing the United States has captivated Iowans, showing that Iowa truly is ‘Carson Country,’” said John Philip Sousa IV, national chairman of The 2016 Committee. “The 2016 Committee is proud to be on the ground in Iowa, organizing grassroots volunteers and spreading the word about Dr. Carson’s candidacy, and we’re looking forward to him winning the Iowa caucuses in February. Recent polls suggest that Dr. Carson continues to have a strong lead
over other Republican hopefuls, showing that he has captivated millions of Americans across our great country.”

The billboard, which can be viewed here, features a picture of Dr. Carson and the text “Welcome to Iowa! This is Carson Country.” It is located across the street from the Des Moines airport, where more than 200,000 passengers travel each month, as well as just around the corner from the Iowa Democratic Party Headquarters. The billboard, which will stay up through the Iowa caucuses, is one of 16 currently in the state. It is part of the second series of billboards out of three planned by The 2016 Committee.
