Young Raises $152,000 for US Senate Campaign

(Des Moines, IA)  July 9, 2013—Today, David Young, candidate for U.S. Senate, announced June fundraising efforts totaling $152,785 with $151,500 in the bank at the end of the quarter.

Young, a Van Meter native, formerly served as Senator Chuck Grassley’s chief of staff before announcing on June 1st his candidacy for Iowa’s U.S. Senate seat being vacated by retiring Senator Tom Harkin.

Since announcing his candidacy, Young has traveled to 33 counties around the state sharing his plan to rein in Washington’s out-of-control spending and create good paying jobs for the people of Iowa.

“David’s ability to raise more than $150,000 and travel to 33 counties in just one month shows the breadth of excitement and commitment already surrounding his candidacy,” said Zach Lahn, campaign manager for Young for Iowa.  “Iowans know that Congressman Braley does not represent our families, farmers or businesses. As folks across the state learn more about David, they know that David Young stands for Iowa values and has the right experience to fight for us in Washington.”
