Nathan Gonzales of the Rothenberg Political Report has noticed that Congressman Tom Latham has officially changed the name of his campaign committee.
Republican Rep. Tom Latham is changing the name of his campaign committee from “Latham for Congress” to “Iowans for Latham” ahead of a potential run for the U.S. Senate. The change could be filed with the Federal Election Committee as soon as this evening, according to a source familiar with the situation.
The name change was made official on Monday. This isn’t the first time something like this has happened in Iowa. In 2004, Congressman Jim Nussle rebranded his committee name in advance of a 2006 gubernatorial bid. Nussle never made an official name change of his committee, but he rebranded it from Nussle for Congress to Nussle for Iowa.
