(AMES) – Rep. Steve King (R-Kiron) today announced former Pennsylvania Senator, and 2012 Iowa Caucus winner, Rick Santorum will headline his Defenders of Liberty fundraiser in Ames, Iowa, on Friday, October 19, 2012.

“Our unique American liberty has been under attack from Obama and Pelosi’s agenda of government-run healthcare, higher taxes, burdensome debt and layers of government red tape and bureaucracy,” said King. “Senator Rick Santorum is a close friend. We share the values of family, freedom and faith, which define American liberty. I am deeply honored by his unwavering support.”

The Defenders of Liberty fundraiser will be held at Hickory Hall in Ames, Iowa, from 6:30 – 8 p.m. on October 19th. Individuals interested in purchasing tickets may call 1-888-722-4704 or email RSVP@campaign-headquarters.com.

“Representative King has been on the front lines in Washington protecting our individual freedoms, even when it meant taking on his own political party,” said Santorum. “Steve understands that in order to restore our American Dream we must repeal ObamaCare and replace it with free-market solutions, balance our budget, harness all forms of American energy and create stability in Washington for business to grow.”
