Rand Paul Endorses Romney

Mitt Romney surpassed the threshold of 1,144 bound delegates earlier this week, ending Ron Paul’s hopes of securing the GOP presidential nomination through a floor fight at the RNC convention. Now, Paul’s son is giving Romney his full-fledged support. Kentucky Senator Rand Paul official endorsed Mitt Romney Thursday evening during an appearance on Fox News’ “Hannity” program.

“Now that the nominating process is over, I’m happy to announce that I’m going to be supporting Governor Romney,” Paul said.

Paul and Romney met last month for a 30 minute discussion about a lot of the issues championed by Ron and Rand Paul. The Kentucky senator sees a lot of similarities between himself and the former Massachusetts governor. “I think we have a lot of the same family values and trust and feeling of the importance of the family unit, so that I think draws a kinship between our families,” Paul said.
