President Obama just wrapped up his remarks in Iowa where he once again moved the goalposts saying “it’s going to take some time for the economy to fully recover, more time than any of us would like.” Unfortunately for him, Americans remember the goalpost he set in 2009 when he said if he didn’t have it done in three years it would be a one-term proposition, which might be why his Iowa magic appears to be gone.
President Obama In May 2012: “It’s Going To Take Some Time For The Economy To Fully Recover. More Time Than Any Of Us Would Like.” OBAMA: “We all know how difficult these past few years have been for this country. After the worst recession of our lifetimes, it’s going to take some time for the economy to fully recover. More time than any of us would like.” (Barack Obama, Prepared Remarks, Newton, IA, 5/24/12)
