Kevin’s Korner: Santorum Sinks, Holder Slimes, and Loebsack Sengs

Greetings and welcome to Kevin’s Korner. Big plans for the day: I’m gonna go out and get the world by the tail and wrap it around and pull it down and put it in my pocket … Or maybe I’ll do jack squat.

Rick Santorum blew it. There’s no other way to describe it. The chance to knock Mitt Romney from his frontrunner perch was right there, but Santorum’s mouth got in the way, by his own admission. The consistently brilliant Charles Krauthammer perfectly summed up the reasons Santorum failed: snobbery, vomiting and contraception.

And with Santorum’s Michigan loss, his best chance of capturing the GOP nomination, waved bye-bye … I’m not going to say the race is over, but the Fat Lady is tuning upSantorum’s only chance to stop Mitt is winning Ohio this Tuesday, but his campaign failed him there by not submitting the proper paperwork in nine congressional districts, so he’s starting with a huge disadvantage in delegates.

Meanwhile, we’ve got Romney staffers calling Santorum a “real criminal” for encouraging Democrats to vote for him … This came after some slimeballs in the Michigan GOP, led by Mitt’s main Michigan minion Saul Anuzis, changed their delegate rules the day after the primary so Mitt could get the majority of the state’s delegates … Anuzis keeps running for RNC Chair. We need to make sure he never gets it. This Saul is not worthy of rising to the throne.

I’m taking bets. Who wins the most states on Super Tuesday?

Back to the contraception issue, Sandra Fluke is a fake. She’s no young Georgetown co-ed. She’s 30 years old and a longtime pro-abortion activist … As for her statement that contraception costs $1,000 a year … I haven’t shopped for condoms in a long time but I’m pretty sure you’d have to go through an awful lot of them to equal $1,000 … And you can get the pill at Target for $4 a month … BTW, Rush Limbaugh apologized to Fluke on Saturday for calling her a slut …

Is it possible for the pro-aborts to be bigger hypocrites?

Nope.

Note the liberal media’s outrage at what Rush said, but they completely ignore the hateful things their ilk spewed about Andrew Breitbart after his untimely death … Breitbart is a hero for taking down the Dems’ fraud-peddling ACORN organization. We must be vigilant and continue to wage the wars Breitbart began. RIP.

How ridiculous are the Iowa House Democrats? Not only did they flee the Capitol and refuse to do their taxpayer-funded jobs, they did it on the day they were supposed to hold a celebration for Black History Month … Even more ridiculous, the celebration was heavily advertised on their own website …

People from many miles came to the Capitol for the celebration. What did the House Dems tell these folks to do? Head over to Ryan’s Restaurant. Look, I enjoy a good buffet as much more than most, but I think Ryan’s somehow lacks the ambience, prestige and history of the golden domed State Capitol building …

House Dem leader Kevin McCarthy couldn’t even get his story straight. First he said they walked out because they didn’t know the bills would be debated that day … When they returned, McCarthy claimed the walkout was to shine some “sunlight” on these “very, very extreme” gun bills … In other words, they bailed on doing their taxpayer-funded jobs, and honoring Black History Month, for pure political reasons. Somehow, I don’t think it worked in their favor.

But then, the Democrats are all about playing politics. After they finally returned and did their jobs, debating the gun bills, ultra-liberal Beth Wessel-Kroeschell tried to use the Ohio tragedy to score political points … Really, really disgraceful.

Kroeschell wasn’t the only dim Dem in Ames this week. VP Joe Biden visited Iowa State, and referred to it as the University of Iowa … Good ol’ Joe. You can always count on him to take stupidity to an art form.

At least Biden will come to Iowa. My wonderful worthless congressman Leonard Boswell is rightfully ashamed of his close alliance with liberal loon Nancy Pelosi. But he needs her help raising money because Leonard’s getting his clock cleaned by Tom Latham. So, instead of bringing Nancy to Iowa, they held a fundraiser across the river in Omaha … I don’t think we should be too tough on poor Nancy. It’s not her fault. She hasn’t been the same since that house fell on her sister.

Fellow Dem congressman Dave Loebsack might be facing a primary challenge from Iowa State Senator Joe Seng, a rare pro-life Dem. He announced plans to run this week, but needs a lot of help collecting enough signatures to qualify. Senator Seng, here’s some free, unsolicited advice: The Iowa GOP is holding its county conventions this coming Saturday, March 10. I am sure every Republican in the district would be happy to sign petitions for you to get on the ballot to take down Loebsack. Get your petitions to the GOP conventions … You’re welcome.

Speaking of Republican county conventions … Remember, the Paulbots are plotting to take all the state delegate slots they possibly can. Do not let them. Attend your county conventions and fight for those delegate slots.

Attorney General Eric Holder has an explanation for all the criticism he’s receiving. It’s not because he’s incompetent. Not because he’s hyperpartisan. And certainly not because he’s responsible for the death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry … Nope, couldn’t be any of those reasons … Holder says he’s a target because he’s black … Of course. Democrat Playbook Rule #1: When all else fails, accuse your opponents of racism.

Finally, congrats to the Cyclones on a great regular season. Hilton Magic is indeed back. Now do some damage in the postseason!

Thanks for reading … Now, go on. Get out of my sight.
