Former Obama Supporter in Iowa Slams President’s Policies

A former Barack Obama supporter joined Iowa House members Kraig Paulsen and Kevin Koester at a press conference Friday to discuss how the president  has failed to keep his promises to Iowans made four years ago. The President has broken his promises to slash the deficit in half, create millions of new jobs, and strengthen the middle class.

Iowans know that Governor Romney spent a lifetime creating good, well-paying jobs, helping start and build successful businesses and turning around failing ones. As Governor of Massachusetts, he led his state to unemployment below 5 percent as incomes rose by 14 percent. This is the kind of leadership that Iowans know our country needs.

Clair Rudison was an Obama supporter four years ago. After seeing the country struggle economically throughout Obama’s term, Rudison will vote for Mitt Romney in November.

“I’m weighing everything in the balance and I felt like I gave President Obama an opportunity with my last vote in 2008,” Rudison said. “In 2012 he won’t get it.”

You can watch the video below, with statements from former Obama supporter Clair Rudison, Iowa House Speaker Kraig Paulsen (R-Hiawatha) and Representative Kevin Koester (R-Ankeny).
