Despite spending three times more money on consultants than actually helping Congressman Steve King win his re-election campaign, Iowa’s Road Ahead, which is a subsidiary of America’s Road Ahead, is once again soliciting donations from Iowa Republicans.
A letter signed by Brian Kennedy, a former Chairman of the Republican Party of Iowa and the current Chairman of the Romney campaign in Iowa, warns Iowans “Barack Obama and the Democrat machine are poised to flip the U.S. House!”
However, the group has spent three times more on consultants than it has spent on the candidate they claim to support. Documents filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) earlier this month show that America’s Road Ahead Fund has raised $148,988.04 since mid-June. The group spent $143,320.04 in July, August and September, but only $38,000 has been used to help Congressman Steve King, the stated candidate the group is supporting.
Below is the fundraising appeal that Kennedy sent out on Sunday.
