Branstad Issues Thanksgiving Pardons

In the spirit of the holiday season, Governor Terry Branstad showed mercy this week on two fowl creatures. Bob and Rose escaped capital punishment after the governor pardoned the wild inmates.

Lucky turkeys Rose and Bob get to spend the rest of their days at Living History Farms after the governor rewarded them with clemency during a ceremony at Terrace Hill. The pardons are part of a yearly Thanksgiving tradition by Iowa’s governor.
