AFF: “The Real State Of The Union”

American Future Fund today released a national cable ad and website entitled “The Real State of the Union” taking on President Barack Obama’s empty promises.  The ad buy, totaling $150,000, will air on CNN, CNBC and online leading into President Obama’s State of the Union address tomorrow evening.

The ad outlines the many broken promises the President has made in his State of the Union speeches over the past 3 years.

In 2009, Obama declared the stimulus plan would save or create 3.5 million jobs.  The reality?  America has lost 1.7 million jobs.

In 2009, Obama claimed we would double the nations supply of renewable energy in next 3 years.  The reality?  Since 2009 our renewable energy consumption has increased only 6%.

In 2010, Obama sang the praises of clean energy investments and the new jobs it would create.  The reality?  Solyndra went bankrupt, costing taxpayers $535 million and losing 1,100 jobs.

In 2010, Obama warned that America must not sit on the sidelines when it comes to making trade deals or we would lose jobs.  The reality?  He waited nearly 3 years before signing any trade deals.

In 2009, Obama pledged to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term.  The reality?  The 2012 budget deficit is still over $1 trillion.

Last year, Obama promised to renew people’s faith in the institution of government.  The reality?  Eight in 10 Americans are still dissatisfied with Washington.

“It’s like a fairy tale the President is reading to the American people year after year,” said AFF Founder Nick Ryan.  “Only this story doesn’t have a happy ending.  President Obama’s promises are completely unbelievable and insulting to the American people.”

Take charge of your future.  Tell Obama the time for talk is over.  It’s time to walk the walk.
