Sen. Rand Paul’s Iowa Tea Party Tour Cancelled Due to Debt Ceiling Standoff

The 2012 Ron Paul presidential campaign regrets that Senator Rand Paul’s comprehensive Iowa tea party tour is cancelled due to debt ceiling negotiations and likely votes.

“Naturally we understand that Senator Paul is required to be in Washington for a critically important vote on the debt ceiling,” said Ron Paul 2012 campaign Iowa Chairman Drew Ivers.  “I’m sure Senator Paul’s supporters are disappointed by not being able to see him due to this postponement, but it is far more important to have a strong taxpayer advocate in the Senate for this crucial vote.”

The junior senator from the Commonwealth of Kentucky was scheduled to rally Iowa voters in advance of the Ames Straw Poll, which will take place on August 13, 2011.
