Perry Taking Iowa Seriously – Will Attempt to Visit all 99 Counties

Texas Governor Rick Perry spent yesterday morning at the Iowa State Fair before heading to eastern Iowa for campaign events.  Before making an appearance on Jan Mickelson’s program on WHO Radio, the newest entrant into the race for the Republican nomination for President carved out a few minutes to talk exclusively to TheIowaRepublican.com.

When asked how important the Iowa Caucuses are to his path to the Republican nomination, Perry said, “It’s one of thee most important states, and we are going to spend a lot of time here.”  Governor Branstad advised Perry to get out there and shake as many hands as he could over breakfast that morning.  Branstad also advised him to make it to all the state’s 99 counties.  Later, when asked how often we should expect to see him, Perry quipped, “Ninety-nine counties takes a while.”
