House Judiciary Chairman Says: “No Grounds to Impeach”

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Rich Anderson tells TheIowaRepublican.com that he does not believe there are grounds to impeach the four Iowa Supreme Court justices.  “I don’t think there is enough support in the House to move the impeachment process forward,” Anderson said.  “I think that’s probably the case in the Judiciary Committee as well. I think the general sense is that no matter how much opposition or disagreement there is a particular  opinion, issuing that opinion doesn’t rise to the level of misdemeanor or malfeasance, which is the standard that would have to be met to move impeachment forward.  I don’t think that standard is likely met.”
