Gingrich To End Presidential Campaign?

Rumors began swirling early this morning that Newt Gingrich’s entire campaign staff had either quit or were in the process of leaving his campaign.  The Associated Press is now reporting that senior staff has left the campaign. Those resigning included campaign manager Rob Johnson, campaign advisers Dave Carney and Katon Dawson, and communications director Rick Tyler.

TheIowaRepublican.com talked to sources close to Gingrich’s Iowa campaign about the rumors.  None of those rumors were confirmed at that time, but what was talked about was the campaign’s inability to raise the necessary resources to be competitive.

Update: Gingrich just released this statement.

Newt is Committed to Running a Solutions-Orientated Campaign

Atlanta, GA – Newt Gingrich released the following comment today:

“I am committed to running the substantive, solutions-oriented campaign I set out to run earlier this spring. The campaign begins anew Sunday in Los Angeles.”
