22-culver-6Governor Chet Culver:

A year ago, Governor Culver promised Iowans tens of thousands of new jobs if the legislature would approve his borrowing scheme that would rack up over a billion dollars of debt. The legislature caved into the Governor’s demands. By know everyone realized that that freshly paved road in the middle of nowhere doesn’t employ anyone.

Even Governor Culver now says his I-Jobs plan will not create the jobs he promised it would. Culver told the Des Moines Register, “I don’t think people should expect huge job numbers.” A year ago, Culver had said the play would create 21,000 to 30,000 jobs. Now Culver says “hopefully hundreds if not thousands” of jobs will be created.

Governor Culver you’re an idiot.

Coakley_3897_c_390Martha Coakley:

Coakley has to be the worse candidate that I’ve ever seen. As her race to fill the remaining years on Sen. Ted Kennedy’s term, Coakly has made a couple of horrendous gaffes heading into the final weekend before people cast their vote.

Coakley suggested that Catholics who oppose abortion “probably shouldn’t work in the emergency room.” Massachusetts has one of the largest concentrations of Catholics in the nations.

If that wasn’t bad enough, Coakley also said that Curt Schilling is a Yankee fan. WHAT? Here is the transcript of what she said.

The interviewer, Dan Rea, said, “Yeah, but now Scott Brown has Curt Schilling, OK?’’

To which Ms. Coakley replied, “And another Yankee fan.’’

“Schilling?’’ Mr. Rea pressed.

“Yes,’’ she said.

“Curt Schilling a Yankee fan?’’ he persisted.

“No, all right, I’m wrong on my, I’m wrong,’’ she said.

Schilling, who helped the Boston Red Sox win the World Series in 2007, responded by saying, “I’ve been called a lot of things, but never, and I mean never, could anyone ever make the mistake of calling me a Yankee fan. Well, check that, if you didn’t know what the hell is going on in your own state maybe you could….”

Martha Coakley is an idiot, not only do you look like a fool, but you are going to lose the bluest of blue senate seats.

orangemanSteve Rathje:

Steve is running for congress in Iowa’s 2nd congressional district. Word on the street is that he just sent out a fundraising letter. Good move. EXCEPT that it was six pages long.

Dude, if you can’t say what you need to say in two pages you shouldn’t be running for office. Now some out there might think that Rathje is the frontrunner in the 2nd district. I mean he does have almost 5,000 Facebook fans…

Steve, you’re an idiot for sending out a six page fundraising letter. Let’s hope you didn’t send it first class.

Strawn-Desk1Matt Strawn:

Strawn and the communications department over at the state party have already been called out by some in the media for emailing out his speech at the RPI legislative breakfast that was closed to the press. I didn’t have a problem with it and I’ll admit, I actually watched it.

Strawn made a point to talk the race in Iowa House District 89. I’m told that Jared Klein is going to make another run against Rep. Larry Marek. Strawn must think that Republicans can pick up that seat. I mean why else would he have brought it up? Klein didn’t raise a dime in 2009, while Marek raised more than $32,000.

I’m no fan of Marek, but he was one of the six pro-business democrats that put a stop to a couple of big labor bills. That means he’s going to be pretty difficult to beat in my books. Let’s hope this isn’t the best pickup opportunity for Iowa Republican in the house. If that’s the case, we are all going to look like idiots.
