I think I found a story that is even more disturbing than socialized medicine getting a foothold in the United States. I don’t even know what to say about it other than to just let you read it for yourselves.
When she signed a consent form, Jill figured it meant her 15 year old could go to the Ballard Teen Health Center located inside the high school for an earache, a sports physical, even birth control, but not for help terminating a pregnancy.
T.J. Cosgrove of the King County Health Department, which administers the school-based programs for the health department, says it’s always best if parents are involved in their children’s health care, but don’t always have a say.
Another blogger pointed out that it is actually illegal to give a minor a tattoo in the state of Washington, but apparently abortion is not viewed as seriously as body ink.
But, the staff at Ballard High School are proud of the “confidential” healthcare they provide to minor children. They brag about it on their website. Imagine if government was in charge of healthcare for all of our children (non-binding executive orders aside).
Oh wait, we’re almost there.
