What’s the Big Deal?

I don’t know why so many people are making such a big deal out of Governor Culver pulling over someone on the Interstate.

Article IV, Section 1 of the Iowa Constitution Clearly States: “The supreme executive power of this state shall be vested in a chief magistrate, who shall be styled the governor of the state of Iowa.”

To quote Vice President Joe Biden, that means that Culver is a big F-ing deal.

Article IV, Section 9 States: “He shall take care that the laws are faithfully executed.”

That means Culver has the authority to pull over a speeder on Interstate 80, apprehend a shoplifter at Wal-Mart, or confront anybody who doesn’t comply with the laws of the state of Iowa.

If Bob Vander Plaats is elected this fall, we can probably expect to see more stories like this. Vander Plaats would take the responsibilities given to him Article IV section 9 so seriously that instead of giving him an unmarked Chevy Tahoe, he should just drive around in a state patrol car.

The Tale of Two Ads

This is an outstanding ad. Never get in the way of your message. Sestak didn’t and he won.

Now this is a horrible ad. It’s so unbelievable I laughed when I saw it.

Then when McCain tried to be funny, I didn’t laugh.
