The National Enquirer is being considered for a Pulitzer Prize for its investigation of two-time Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards affair with Rielle Hunter. For almost two years, the Enquirer trailed the Edwards conspiracy and cover-up. Now the Enquirer is up for a Pulitzer in two categories: investigative reporting and national news reporting.
Some in the main stream media think that a tabloid should not be considered for such a prestigious award, but why punish the enquirer for a story that traditional media refused to cover?
