Sorenson Endorses Lieutenant Governor Nominee Kim Reynolds

On the eve of the Republican State Convention, State Representative Kent Sorenson has endorsed Terry Branstad’s lieutenant governor nominee Kim Reynolds.

Sorenson’s endorsement is surprising considering that Bob Vander Plaats, who received 41% of the vote in the June 8th primary, is also expected to be nominated from the floor at tomorrow’s convention.  Sorenson was a strong supporter of Vander Plaats in the gubernatorial primary.

Sorenson’s endorsement read as follows:

Convention Delegates:

Senator Kim Reynolds has shown me that she is a solid conservative through our previous work together.  She has a proven record of supporting pro-life, pre-traditional marriage, limited government and limited taxation.  I also look forward to working with Kim on important property right’s issues.

Kim is a wonderful mother, grandmother and an active church member who lives and shares our common sense, conservative Iowa values.

I proudly endorse Kim Reynolds as our Republican Lieutenant Governor candidate and I ask you to please give her you enthusiastic support.

Sincerely,

Rep. Kent Sorenson.
