Rep. Steve Luken Endorses Jim Heavens for State Treasurer

An Assistant Republican Leader in the Iowa House, State Representative, Steve Lukan is endorsing Dyersville Mayor, Jim Heavens for State Treasurer. Lukan is encouraging voters to turn out on primary election day, June 8th to cast their ballot for Heavens in the Republican primary for State Treasurer.

“Voters have a unique opportunity in Jim to nominate a person with strong success in the private sector and proven leadership skills in public service for higher office. Jim Heavens works in the agribusiness industry and knows what it takes to grow our economy and put people to work,” said Lukan

On Heavens watch as Mayor of Dyersville, the tax rate has gone down, new homes have been built, and new industry and jobs have come to town. Dyersville Company, FarmTek, recently announced it will be expanding operations adding 100 new jobs to their facility within the next three years. Those facts have not been lost Lukan. He says that Heavens is a dedicated public servant and family man who understands that taxpayer’s money needs to be respected and used wisely.

“Jim Heavens opposes the borrowing of billions of dollars, putting our state into a high level of debt. He has worked to keep city spending open and accessible to the public on the local government level and will push for more openness at the state level,” said Lukan
Heavens says he is thrilled with the endorsement. “I am excited and honored that a Republican leader the caliber of Steve Lukan has endorsed me in the June 8th primary.”
