Christopher Reed said: “We are pleased and honored to have David Beamer, Gregg Garvey and Bill Salier accompanying us on our SALUTE TO HEROES TOUR.” Our campaign team is traveling all across the District this Memorial Day weekend, organizing events for families to come out and join us as we honor America’s heroes.”
David Beamer is the father of one of our American heroes from September 11 – Todd (Let’s Roll) Beamer. You will remember that Todd Beamer was one of the heroic passengers on Flight 93. Todd and several other passengers made the decision to try to stop the terrorists. Flight 93 subsequently crashed in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. It is believed that the flight was headed for the White House or the Capitol. If you would like to visit Todd’s Memorial site, you may do so at http://perpetuallyonline.com/ToddBeamer.
Gregg Garvey, the father of Army Sgt. Justin W. Garvey, who died in service to our country on July 20, 2003, during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Gregg has established a website in honor of his son. http://www.lesstheybeforgotten.com/. As he defines it, the mission of the website is to create, establish, and help maintain hometown memorials in honor of the brave heroes who have lost their lives defending our country in the war against terrorism.
Bill Salier served in the US Marine Corps and was on White House duty. He is a WHO radio personality with a weekly segment on “Deace in the Afternoon” and a former U.S. Senate candidate. Bill is on the Board of Director of Everyday America designed for a group of patriots who want to restore America to the Constitution. http://www.everydayamerica.com/index.htm.
