Obama Tries to Bailout Culver and Democrats – Approves $213 Million for Rail Project.

With just days before the November election, the Obama Administration awarded $230 million to establish passenger train service between Chicago and Iowa City, one of Governor Culver’s pet projects.

In addition to aiding Culver’s campaign, the move could also benefit Congressman Dave Loebsack, who is in the fight of his congressional life with Dr. Mariannette Miller-Meeks in the 2nd Congressional District, as well as Congressman Bruce Braley, who is struggling against Republican attorney Ben Lange in the 1st District.

No details of when service will begin were released. It sure seems like the Obama Administration and Governor Culver just wanted to make sure everybody knew about it before people cast their votes.

What a gross misuse of taxpayer’s money.

The Iowa City to Chicago line was skipped over by the Obama Administration last February. Instead it awarded over $8 billion for projects in California, Florida, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Missouri. Nothing like an election to free up some pork.
