Grassley Campaign Offers Conlin A helping Hand

Noting that Democratic Senate candidate Roxanne Conlin still hadn’t released her latest campaign financial report, Sen. Chuck Grassley’s re-election campaign today offered a helping hand.

“We hope this assistance doesn’t trigger the need to report an in-kind contribution, but we just wanted to be helpful to the Conlin campaign because they’re obviously having trouble getting their latest numbers out,” said Eric Woolson, a spokesman for Sen. Chuck Grassley’s re-election campaign. “One detail we should point out is that Roxanne Conlin has apparently thrown in towel on her own campaign after loaning it $1 million through Sept. 30.  This latest report shows she’s made no loans in October and judging from the latest report the campaign sure could use another cash infusion.”

Conlin’s net contributions for Oct. 1 to Oct. 13 were a meager $27,555.42.  The Conlin campaign reported less than $417,000 on hand and $1,000,000 in debts. The Grassley campaign released its report on Thursday. His campaign started the period with $4.75 million.  It received $264,996 in total receipts, expended $1,564,069 and ended with $3,457,651 on hand.

“Roxanne Conlin’s promise of a $10 million campaign earlier this year is just like all her other promises – empty,” Woolson
