Gettemy Wants Return to American Exceptionalism

gettemyCEDAR RAPIDS — On the day before President Barack Obama’s visit to Iowa’s 2nd District, Rob Gettemy releases his first web video, excerpting a speech made at the “Stand Up 4 Freedom rally last month in Iowa City. In it, Gettemy underscores the challenges facing America, and calls for new leadership in Congress.

Gettemy focuses his comments on President Obama, Congressman Dave Loebsack, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Leader Harry Reid and challenges their liberal agenda – unprecedented spending in Washington and government control over family and business decisions, led by Obama, Pelosi and Reid and but enabled by the rubber stamp provided by Congressman Loebsack.

Excerpts follow:

“…they don’t really believe in… this experiment we call America. They think that the decisions they make out of Washington are better and that they should be imposed on us.”

“Our worldview is that American really is an exceptional place. If we unleash the innovation… and ingenuity…, and got the government the hell out of the way, we would have a great economy and a great country.

“America truly is an exceptional place, and our politicians in Washington haven’t been great stewards of that exceptionalism. It’s time to change that. If we don’t put a stop in 2010 to the progressive agenda that’s going on in Washington, we will regret it for the rest of our lives. let’s restore America’s exceptionalism.”
