The Kennedy Family is hosting a fundraising event for Governor Chet Culver’s re-election campaign on May 11th, TheIowaRepublican.com has learned. The event will be held at Jean Kennedy Smith’s home. She is the former Ambassador to Ireland and the sister of President John F. Kennedy, Senator Ted Kennedy, and Robert F. Kennedy.
Governor Culver’s father, former Senator John Culver, was a Harvard classmate, friend, and colleague in the Senate of Ted Kennedy. In the 2006 election, John Culver was raised a lot of money for his son’s gubernatorial campaign. Most of the money he raised came from inside the beltway where he lives and works for a large lobbying firm.
