Bruce Braley: A Legacy of Deafness Video

Ben Lange, the rising conservative candidate in Iowa’s 1st Congressional District, released a new video today highlighting the liberal Democrat incumbent Bruce Braley’s failure to listen to the people he represents on nearly every major vote under the tenure of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

The video, entitled “Bruce Braley: A Legacy of Deafness,” strikes an urgent tone in showing that Bruce Braley didn’t listen to the people, even when the people unified across political, social and generational divides to oppose massive government intervention into the private sector and their daily lives.

The video cites Braley’s support of Wall Street bailouts, the failed $814 billion stimulus legislation, the cap-and-trade energy tax that will kill jobs in Iowa and increase utility costs on middle class families by 20 percent, and the new health care law that inserts government into the intimate health care decisions of seniors and middle class families.

“The legacy of Bruce Braley and other incumbent politicians — Democrat and Republican — across the country this year will be that they didn’t listen to the people,” Lange said. “We live in a representative republic, and when our representatives become detached from the will of the people, the people have the power to correct it. That is what we see going on here in Iowa’s 1st Congressional District, and I’m humbled by the outpouring of support from my fellow Iowans — young and old, rich and poor, Republican and Democrat.”
