State Representative Wayne Ford created Urban Dreams to help inner-city residents become productive citizens. The program is funded by The United Way and has received numerous awards and praise for their activities in the past. One of the activities that Urban Dreams funded was the West Side Boxing Club, but despite continued funding from the United Way, Urban Dreams has pulled the plug on the club, and it is now set to close.
WHO TV did a good story on the situation last night, but the thing that shocked me was the fact that Rep. Wayne Ford declined to comment on the matter. What the heck is up with that? How can someone like Rep. Ford be considered a leader in the community when he is unwilling to talk about why the boxing club is closing?
If Ford’s non-profit Urban Dreams is still receiving funding from the United Way, then he needs to explain what the heck is going on with the West Side Boxing Club. Maybe it’s time for the friendly State Auditor to stop in for a look at the books.
Gay Day at Adventureland
Yesterday was Gay Day at Adventureland in Altoona. Apparently gay people got $10 off admission and were encouraged to wear purple shirts. Reports from the park indicated a lot of congestion near the log ride.
Below is a video of a couple of dudes who took their daughter to Adventureland yesterday. They try to explain to her what “gay” means on the trip to Altoona. Maybe daddy Danny should spend less time lip syncing and more time parenting…
