TIR to Provide Live Coverage of Obama’s Iowa Visit Today

tir_button2The Iowa Republican.com will be on the ground in Newton, Iowa, for President Obama’s first visit to the state since taking the oath of office. We will be Live Tweeting Obama’s visit to Trinity Structural Towers tomorrow.

President Obama will touch down in Iowa today, where he will meet with workers at a new Newton company which took over the former Maytag plant. The company now houses a green manufacturing facility that produces towers for wind energy production. Trinity employs dozens of former Maytag employees and is part of the revitalization of a town hit hard by the closing of the manufacturing plant.

During the transition last November, an Obama spokesperson said that the Obama administration would be “one of the most open and transparent press offices in White House history…. Americans now get information in a broad variety of ways, and so we are expanding the ways we reach them,” the administration official concluded.

The Obama Administration in now proving that they meant what they said back in late November. When I submitted my request for press credentials, I didn’t really think that my request would be granted. To my surprise, the Obama press office was very helpful and granted my request to cover the event first-hand.
