A little off my normal route today. As Constitution Daily surpasses 15,000 views, I thought it would be a good time to congratulate Mr. Craig Robinson for the best Republican website ever. I love this place.
Sure we have some heated discussion. Sometimes it even turns a little nasty but for the most part we’ve been able to toss out ideas and debate them in a civil manner. And this hasn’t been during a time of social harmony either. We’ve been able to discuss gay marriage, socialism, and labor unions. I don’t know about you all, but holy smokes it’s been fun!
I also wanted to thank the commenters not only on my blog but all others as well. From Jeff, Peggy, and Deace Voted for Obama to Timmy, Silence, and all the others, I offer a big thank you.
Since my personality doesn’t allow me to stop there, I also wanted to write a little about public discourse. We are coming up on a gubernatorial primary where it will be tempting to take the gloves off, so to speak. Before Constitution Daily moved from its original site, I fell to that temptation a few times. I’ve tried to keep things above the belt since then and intend to do so throughout the primary process. I ask you to do the same.
Obviously when I see something wrong, I won’t hesitate to write about it. But, I will try to do so in a polite, respectful manner. My philosophy is to remember the candidates and their staff are real people with real families working toward our common goal.
Now that I have that on record, please hold me to it.
