Cougar townI find it interesting that Kathie Obradovich wrote a blog post about Christian Fong’s speech at the IFPC Hog Roast and also mentioned that she is planning to devote an entire article on it. I read the portions of Fong’s speech that Obradovich posted, and it’s nice and everything, but I don’t really know what it has to do him wanting to be my governor.

I’m not really surprised that Kathie is infatuated with Fong. She probably thinks that Christian is a hottie and has washboard abs like Ryan Reynolds.

There was one comment in Fong’s remarks from Saturday night that I found interesting. Fong said, “I spent the last year doing flood recovery work in Cedar Rapids. We rebuilt homes, we rebuilt businesses, rebuilt lives. I even served Democrats. The Lord causes rain to fall on the righteous and the unrighteous.”

Kind of an odd joke to include in a speech about Christ-like servant leadership, don’t you think?

I also thought it was odd for Fong to make a joke about “unrighteous” Democrats. I mean here is the guy who has made contributions to Democrat state legislators like Reps. Tyler Olson and Elesha Gayman. I think it’s safe to say that Christian Fong deceived some in the audience that night with his little joke. Since Christian knowingly mislead people on his view of Democrats, can we really believe what he told everyone in the rest of his speech? Was this really who Christian Fong is, or was it the candidate who he and his advisors what us believe he is?

As for Kathie, I wonder if she is auditioning for a part in ABC’s new show, Cougar Town.
