Despite record low temperatures in 90 U.S. cities on Sunday evening, faithful polk county republicans braved the chilly barn thin air to hear from GOP governor candidates.  It should be noted those who were definitely not in attendance include rock star Elvis Presley, Senator Paul McKinley (R-Chariton) and recent paper work filing former Iowa Governor Terry Branstad.

The five hard working GOP candidates that regularly attend 2010 Iowa Gubernatorial events are: Representative Rod Roberts (R-Carroll), Cedar Rapids businessman Christian Fong, Senator Jerry Behn (R-Boone), Representative Chris Rants (R-Sioux City) and Sioux City businessman Bob Vander Plaats.

Also grabbing the microphone was Iowa Senator Charles Grassley, State of Iowa auditor David Vaudt, and congressional candidates Dave Funk and Pat Bertroche.
