Ed Failor, Jr., the President of Iowans for Tax Relief has told The Iowa Republican that he will not run for governor in 2010.
This afternoon Failor said, “I am not going to run for Governor. I have a son graduating High School in 2010 and another in 2011. I will be a present father. The timing is not right.”
Earlier this month, Failor told The Iowa Republican that he was considering a run. At that time he also indicated that he had been approached by friends about a potential gubernatorial run, and that he had discussed the possibility with his family.
Currently, Bob Vander Plaats is the only official Republican candidate in the race.
