This time the flyers are aimed at getting him to run for governor, not keep him out of the race.

The Draft Branstad group is distributing flyers that read, “You did your research, compiled your spreadsheets and drafted the perfect team. You’ve got sleepers and breakout players and rookie sensations. There’s no way you can lose. But while your fantasy football team may be set to dominate, another big draft is just beginning. Not for football … but for Iowa’s future.”

“Remember when we had real leadership in Des Moines? Governor Terry Branstad. Branstad cut taxes and balanced the budget. That’s the sort of fiscal discipline we need today. Branstad worked to grow our economy, and helped make Iowa education among the world’s best. He steered Iowa through the farm crisis, and worked with national leaders to help us recover from devastating floods in 1993. Branstad now serves as president of Des Moines University, a private medical school whose graduates deliver quality health care all over Iowa.

A time of great challenges demands proven leadership that we can trust. Draft Terry Branstad for Governor.”
